The difference between them is that you can see black and white movie clips in the girl chewing gum but on telling lies you can only see words appearing on the screen in different colours over a black back ground. They both rely on the dialogue for the audience to understand the concept of the film. The film Koyannisqatsi is similar to The girl chewing gum because the camera concentrates on what the people in the scenery are doing. 1001 nights is another clip that relies on dialogue because the women don't move when they are telling there own stories.

Also Koyannisqatsi and 1001 nights aqre very similar because they both include some influene of war or trouble in thier concepts of film. For example Koyannisqwatsi opens with ther camera following a pice of debris from an explosion and in 1001 nightws all of the woman talk about an experience or memory they have had in some type of war experience. They booth incoporate some sort of fear or violence.
